Blood Baby http://www.megfoley.org/blood-baby.html is an iterative performance project exploring gender, parenthood, family-building, and sexuality from a queer and gender non-conforming perspective and as acts of belonging - to Earth, to lineage and culture, and to ourselves--
//how we are created and how we are shaped (our bodies as ourselves)
//through the forces of parenting and family
//considering those efforts as part of geology + nature (Earth's progression) and social community

In Balance With is an annual and iterative performance by Courtney Kessel with her daughter, Chloe Clevenger. This performance investigates balance as both an ongoing and potentially impossible endeavor. While balance is implied, the negotiation between mother and daughter becomes highlighted as life changes and the manifesting performance demonstrates the shifts within the relationship. This performance began in 2010.
