Utopian Realities in a Collapsing World: Literature and the Common in Latin America
The idea of the "common" or the "commons" has been central to recent debates on autonomous politics, resource management, and post-state and post-capitalist futures. There is an extensive body of scholarship on this topic, particularly in Europe and Latin America. In this presentation, I will discuss my current research on literature and the common in Latin America, from my perspective as a literary critic, as part of my book project titled Constellations of the Common: Literature and Utopia in Latin America. While my work is grounded in the field of Latin American cultural studies, I believe it will be of interest to students and faculty across disciplines who are engaged in these conversations.
The Thursday Global Forum is a weekly series focusing on international research, scholarship and creative activity for the Ohio University community.
