Contemporary History | Framing American history in schools, universities, and public discourse, Sept. 23

The Contemporary History Institute at Ohio University hosts a conversation on "framing American history in schools, universities, and public discourse" on Sept. 23 at noon via Teams.

The conversation—which will be led by Aimee Edmondson (Journalism), Brian Schoen (History), and Linda Trautman (Political Science)—revolves around questions about current public assumptions on how and what we teach about American history and identity (primarily in secondary education, but also in higher education) and uses a recent Harper's article by Matthew Karp ("History as End") as point of departure.
