Ohio University alumnus Dr. Sebastián Hurtado-Torres talks about continued importance of diplomatic history and his book The Gathering Storm: Eduardo Frei’s Revolution in Liberty and Chile’s Cold War on Thursday, Jan. 28.

Foreign Affairs, published by the Council on Foreign Relations and one of the world’s leading forums for the discussion of international relations, named Hurtado-Torres's book one of its Best Books of 2020.

Hurtado-Torres earned a Ph.D. in History in 2016 from the College of Arts & Sciences, along with a Contemporary History Certificate. He teaches at the Instituto de Historia USS, Universidad San Sebastian in Santiago de Chile.
