The CTLA invites faculty to a Coffee and Conversation series on Teaching and Learning during an Election Season. Instructors are invited to sit down and chat with colleagues who have expertise in free speech, higher education law, and U.S. politics, as well as those who are simply interested in how to support positive student engagement and expression. Sample topics may include Free Speech and the Classroom, Elevating Election Cycle Topics, and Teaching Before and After a Presidential Election.

Each session will begin with a conversation starter, then those attending are encouraged to join smaller groups to share examples, strategies and concerns related to dialogue inside and outside the classroom. The goal for our time together is to build scholarly and supportive communities on topics of interest to many instructors and learners.

The coffees are scheduled in the CTLA Collaboratory, first floor, McGuffey Hall, with a virtual “table” for regional faculty or those who cannot attend in person (available by request following registration; email ctla@ohio.edu). The center will provide coffee, tea, and pastries.
