About this Event
Fringe Festival
Produced by Roberto Di Donato
Apr. 22-26
Various Locations
The Fringe Festival is housed within the Ohio University School of Theater in partnership with the College of Fine Arts. Our vision is to have sustained and abundant opportunities for students to practice taking artistic risks, either as originators or participants on innovative projects. We seek clear and strong ideas from artists. During the Fringe Festival, students gain valuable practice in generating their own work and necessary practice in clearly communicating their ideas to an executive committee. The Fringe Festival will be an incubator for Ohio University students to generate new ideas and develop their artistic voice that they carry out of the bounds of the campus and into the world. By definition, “fringe” means to be at the border, or outer edges, of an area or group. The festival producing team hopes to see works that teeter on the edge of live performance.
For the 2025 Fringe Festival, we are excited to welcome three featured projects created by outside professionals! Kezia Waters' new performance piece titled BloodEgg; Merri Biechler's My Bigfoot Family; and Amy Trowell's Fat Feminists featuring Wendy-Marie Martin and Amy Trowell. selected.
