DESCRIPTION:The I AM... Speaker Series gives people from campus and the com
munity a chance to tell their own stories in their own words. Each one-hou
r session pairs a presentation with an open question and answer period\, b
uilt on the idea that understanding starts when people actually hear from
one another.\n\nThis session features Dr. Orianna Carter\, associate profe
ssor of biological sciences at OHIO Southern. Carter came back to school a
s a single mother working as an herbalist\, gathering medicinals from the
woods around her home to keep her children healthy. She wanted to understa
nd how those plants actually worked\, and that question turned into a care
er in education now more than 25 years long.\n\nFree and open to the publi
 c.
