Title: Heteromaterial packaging of silicon with other semiconductors

Abstract: This talk will describe our work on fabricating silicon devices with gallium nitride devices in the same integrated package where both silicon and gallium nitride play active roles. The design and construction of a GaN-in-Si optical transceiver will be described. A part of the talk will also discuss our work on creating broad spectrum white light sources.
