Ohio University Libraries will welcome award-winning author Percival Everett to the Ohio University campus to discuss James, his acclaimed reimagining of Mark Twain’s Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.
In James, Everett retells a familiar American classic from Jim’s perspective, inviting readers to reconsider the story while exploring themes of slavery, identity, and agency. Everett will discuss the novel at 7 p.m. on Monday, October 12, in Morton Hall Room 201. The event is free and open to the public. An audience Q&A and book signing will follow the conversation. Books will be available for purchase from Little Professor Book Center. Limited free parking will be available in the Morton Hall parking lot. A Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award winner, Everett is the author of more than 30 books of fiction and poetry.
