About this Event
8493 Dairy Lane, Athens, Ohio
April MathFest 2026 is our end-of-year celebration and recognition event for the Ohio University Mathematics Department—bringing together faculty, students, donors, and friends to celebrate a great year of mathematics and community.
Join us for an afternoon of connection, recognition, and fun! We’ll enjoy delicious food from a local Amish market, along with potluck-style dishes—feel free to bring something to share. Outdoor games like cornhole and frisbee will be available, and you’re welcome to bring your favorite games to add to the fun.
The recognition program will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by a group photo to capture our Bobcat math community.
Come celebrate, connect, and wrap up the year together—Bobcat style!

Corey, I'll be arriving from a workshop in Chicago on the 18th, so if we're still planning to cook the pilaf-in-cauldron, I'll need to start cooking at least two hours in advance. Do you think it'll be possible for me to set up early (10am) at the park? I don't have a place at home where I can cook over an outdoor burner.
Also: Anyone wishing to learn the art of Uzbek shepherds' pilaf is welcome to join. I could use the help of an extra pair of hands or two handling the cauldron.
I can’t wait!
I am so excited for the math event of the CENTURY!
