The Physics & Astronomy Colloquium Series presents Sami Mitra of Physics Review Letters Senior Editor, discussing "Changing Landscape of Science Dissemination" on January 23.

Abstract: I expect a presentation that focuses on open, unanswered (and possibly unanswerable) questions rather than on providing a list of how-tos for the physics and science publication landscape. Changes in this area are coming rapidly, and it is up to all of us (researchers as authors, reviewers, journal editors, and readers) to position ourselves to face the challenges ahead. 

Bio: Samindranath (Sami) received his Ph.D. at Indiana University (Bloomington) in 1994, where he worked on the quantum Hall effect. After working on chemical physics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City, Sami joined Physical Review Letters. His current portfolio includes 2D and layered systems, quantum materials, heterostructures, and transport properties in condensed matter.
