Public Lecture | Poison Ivy: How Elite Colleges Divide Us, April 12
The Center for Law, Justice & Culture hosts a public lecture by guest speaker Evan J. Mandery on his book Poison Ivy: How Elite Colleges Divide Us on April 12 from 5-6 in Baker Theater.
Mandery is a professor at the City University of New York and the author of eight books, including four novels.
For the past decade, he has been a leading opponent of legacy preference at elite colleges. His new book, Poison Ivy: How Elite Colleges Divide Us, is an eye-opening look at how America’s elite colleges work hand-in-hand with suburbs to keep the rich rich.
The Honors Tutorial College, Ping Institute for the Teaching of the Humanities, Ping Center for the Humanities, and Department of English also helped to make this event possible.
