 s first-hand experience of actively creating a leadership path via work\, 
 not just a resume. She has done it all – from running a private Columbus
  law firm and serving on community boards to being a corporate vice presid
 ent\, legal counsel to former Governor George Voinovich\, chief counsel in
  Ohio’s Attorney General’s office and\, now\, chief of staff to Govern
 or Mike DeWine. Join us for this presentation to learn about her approach 
 to understanding team culture and why driving that dynamic is the key to s

 t the virtual presenter: \n\nOn January 1\, 2023\, Stephanie McCloud was a
 ppointed as Chief of Staff to Governor Mike DeWine. She serves as chief ad
 visor to the governor and leads the execution of the governor’s strategi
 c priorities. Prior to this\, she served as Administrator/CEO of the Ohio 
 Bureau of Workers Compensation (BWC) since 2019.\nMcCloud is an experience
 d executive with a diverse background that encompasses more than 20 years 
 of experience in public administration and workers' compensation. Before c
 oming to the DeWine administration\, she served as senior vice president a
 t Sedgwick Claims Management Services while managing her private Columbus 
 law firm\, McCloud Law LLC.\nShe began her career as a staff attorney at B
 WC before serving as legal counsel to both former Governor George Voinovic
 h and the Ohio Department of Transportation. She later joined the office o
 f former Attorney General Jim Petro\, first as senior deputy attorney gene
 ral before advancing to chief counsel.\nMcCloud is also a former Truro Tow
 nship Trustee and active community leader. She served six years on the Cou
 nselors\, Social Workers\, Marriage & Family Therapists Board. She also se
 rved on the board of the Maryhaven behavioral health and addiction treatme
 nt center for over a decade.\nDuring the peak of the COVID pandemic in Nov
 ember 2020\, McCloud was appointed as the Director of the Ohio Department 
 of Health. Governor Mike DeWine chose Stephanie for her knowledge of state
  government and management expertise\, which were both needed during the p
 andemic. She continued as director for ten months until her return to BWC 
 as administrator in August 2021.\nMcCloud earned a bachelor's degree in jo
 urnalism from Ohio University and a law degree from the Capital University
  Law School.\nAdministrator McCloud was a recipient of Columbus Business F
 irst's "40 Under 40 Award" in 2010\, and in 2019 she was selected as a "Wo
 men to Watch" honoree by the international publication\, Business Insuranc
 e. In addition\, she was chosen as a member of the 2021 Future50 class by 
 Columbus CEO Magazine. In 2020\, McCloud was awarded the Small Business Ad
 vocate Award by the Greater Cleveland Partnership awarded McCloud in recog
 nition of her commitment to small businesses and support of state policies
