The tireless work of those who serve others, who continued to operate at all levels of government and across countless agencies and institutions have demonstrated how critical “true service” is to the integrity of our society and our nation. In this conversation we will explore and consider the deeper value and meaning of service to our own being, how service to and with others affects the core of who we are, and ultimately why we choose public service, a trail less traveled by.

About the speaker:  

Rob Painter is Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Cofounder of I2Pure Corp., a mid-stage biotechnology company focused on developing novel antimicrobial materials to inspire greater global health outcomes. Rob is also the founder and Managing Partner of Fermented Innovations, a boutique consultancy focused on advising and investing in early dual-use and emerging technology businesses. Painter was previously a founding partner at Razor’s Edge Ventures, an early to growth-stage venture capital fund focused on investing in businesses of value to the U.S. Defense and Intelligence Community. Prior to his tenure as a VC, Rob was Chief Technology Evangelist for Google Enterprise across the U.S. public sector and Senior Director for Google’s HA/DR work with members across the UN and global NGOs.

Rob Painter is a Senior Fellow and special advisor to the U.S. Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) and continues to serve today, in his fourth year, as a Fellow and Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) of the Ohio University Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Service. Rob is a cum laude graduate of Ohio University and a recognized recipient of Ohio University’s Konneker Medal for Commercialization and Entrepreneurship in 2018.
