About this Event
View map Free Event Add to calendarAndy Ray will discuss the basics of soundscape ecology and then take us on a soundwalk to the Hocking River. We will learn about the fascinating topic of sound and our surroundings, learn how to identify and categorize sounds on our own, and use technology to explore sounds that may be imperceptible to the human ear, yet exist all around us. Participants will walk away with new knowledge and (hopefully) an appreciation of the wonders of Appalachia through sound.
Andy Ray, Ph.D. is Director of Admissions, Graduate College; Assistant Director, Individual Interdisciplinary Program; and Affiliate Faculty in Latin American Studies at Ohio University.
