Andy Ray will discuss the basics of soundscape ecology and then take us on a soundwalk to the Hocking River. We will learn about the fascinating topic of sound and our surroundings, learn how to identify and categorize sounds on our own, and use technology to explore sounds that may be imperceptible to the human ear, yet exist all around us. Participants will walk away with new knowledge and (hopefully) an appreciation of the wonders of Appalachia through sound.
