Athens is a great tree city! We have street trees shading our sidewalks, and small tree-filled parks all over town.  But it hasn’t always been like this.  The size, species, and number of trees has changed radically over the last 200 years.  Come explore the history of Athens’ urban forest with old maps and historical photos presented by Dr. Glenn Matlack of the Department of Environmental and Plant Biology.
