Friday, April 11 from 1-2:00: "Ignorance: Challenges for Human Trafficking Interventions in Indigenous Region" by Sonali Jha, WGSS Allushuski Fellow and PhD student in Media Arts and Studies.
This talk will discuss the effectiveness of awareness intervention programs targeting human trafficking in Indigenous communities across India, focusing on prevention efforts and stakeholder communication. In particular, Sonali will address the perception of stakeholders, the themes that appear in awareness campaigns conducted by NGOs, and how the power dynamics between the stakeholders affect community reception of information about human trafficking.
